Millfield Female Footballers Selected for the ISFA

Four female Millfield football players have been selected for the ISFA. Congratulations to Lower Sixth Millie Quaintance (U18), Year 10 Lauren Pickup (U15), Lower Sixth Gia Sundaram (U18) and Year 11 Clarissa Jackson (U16) who will play an international match at St George’s Park this December. The Independent Schools Football Association oversees football within the independent sector, encouraging competition and providing opportunity for development in the game.

Upper Sixth Mia Pierre-Wetherell and Lower Sixth Holly Strong have also been selected for the ISFA U18 reserve team. Millfield girls’ football continues to grow, with players currently selected for the Somerset County School Club and the Somerset FA Advanced Coaching Centre.

Millfield Upper Sixth student Yuka Machino was the highest placed female competitor in the world at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), held online this September.  She was the only female to win a gold medal and was placed 22nd out of 616 competitors, each one the very best from their country.
