Millfield netballers selected to represent Scotland

Two Millfield netballers have been selected to represent Scotland in the 2023-2024 season.

Lower Sixth student Louisa Davidson and Year 11 student Olivia Pitt, who are members of the Millfield First Team, will represent Scotland's U19 and U17 teams respectively. They will take part in monthly camps held in Scotland, working towards the upcoming Netball European Championships.

Fifteen-year-old Olivia joined Millfield in Year 9 to to challenge her netball and to compete in high-level competitions. She said, “I am really excited to see where the journey of representing Scotland takes me. I look forward to training with and hopefully playing against other international squads at the upcoming European Championships. The Millfield Netball programme is so special as it has supported me every step of the way in all aspects of my life. The coaches and players create an environment of support and trust where I can continue to develop, grow, and love my netball.”        

In the future, Olivia aims to play netball at the highest level, progressing through the Netball Performance League age groups and playing at Superleague and an International level. 

Sixteen-year-old Louisa Davidson recently joined Millfield in the Lower Sixth. She joined Millfield due to the school’s great reputation and facilities, and for the opportunity to be surrounded by likeminded ambitious individuals. Louisa said, “I was really happy and excited to have the opportunity to play at an international level, and look forward to the opportunities coming up. The netball programme at Millfield is fantastic, the international level coaching focuses on all aspects of progression in the game and we have such a close and supportive team.”

Millfield Director of Netball, Jenna Adamson, said “These international U17 and U19 selections are testimony to the hard work and dedication both individuals have put into their netball. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their talents on an international stage whilst playing against other nations. I’m looking forward to seeing where this year takes them.”

Millfield have a number of specialist Netball staff who are highly experienced coaches and players involved in Senior International Squads, the Netball Superleague, England Performance pathway, and Premier League Clubs. Annually, Millfield has athletes representing Superleague franchises across various age groups within the National Performance League and at Superleague.
