Millfield Prep athletes become European Champions in Germany

Millfield Prep pupils won gold for Team GB at the European Modern Pentathlon Championships, in various disciplines.

Millfield Prep had a medal tally of five whilst competing in Erding, Germany.

A special congratulations to Iona Murray, who became European Champion in the U15 Triathle Mixed Relay. Eva Dowden, who won Gold in the U13 Mixed Laser Shoot Relay. Eva also won silver in the individual triathle with Raffie Bodan and Ruby Bodman having impressive finishes. Polly Warman won gold in the Biathle Mixed Relay and individual bronze.

Millfield Prep took a large pupil contingent to the qualifiers in Cheltenham, and enjoyed significant success on the day. The qualifiers for the Biathle European Championships were: Ruby Bodman, Lois Murray, Eva Dowden, Polly Warman, Elsie Seager, Kruze Frampton and Raffie Bodman.

Pupils also qualified for the European Triathle Championships after competing in the European Qualifying event in Leweston, Dorset. Ruby Bodman, Iona Murray, Eva Dowden, Kruze Frampton, Lois Murray, Raffie Bodman and Cooper Lawson all achieved finishes that qualified them to represent Great Britain in Erding. 

Ruby Bodman, Lois Murray, Eva Dowden, Raffie Bodman and Ethan Jory all competed for Great Britain in the European Laser Run Championships at the same venue. Hope Lewis also represented Ireland at the same event.

A fantastic achievement and experience for all of the pupils that competed. A number of athletes are now looking ahead to the Laser Run World Championships in Bath, starting on the 19 August.
