Millfield Prep Host Virtual Tea and Music Concert

Millfield Prep Host Virtual Tea and Music Concert

After the success of the Virtual Cushion Concert before half term, Millfield Prep's Music Department hosted the first Tea and Music Concert of the year last week, giving talented musicians in Years 6, 7 and 8 the chance to perform.

Although current circumstances are still preventing the hosting of live public events, music staff were determined to give pupils the sense of occasion associated with live performance and so, as part of the recording process, musicians were asked to perform in front of their classes, affording a friendly audience as well as that all important opportunity for a bow.

As always, there was a wide array of instruments on show, including the french horn, oboe, marimba, double bass and electric guitar, with an eclectic mix of genres providing something for every taste in music.

The pupils all demonstrated a great deal of enthusiasm and tenacity throughout the recording process and members of the Millfield Prep community enjoyed watching the concert via YouTube Premiere.
