Millfield Prep Pupil Earns Place in the National Schools Symphony Orchestra

We are delighted to share the fantastic news that Eloise Suffield has been awarded a place in the prestigious National Schools Symphony Orchestra (NSSO) following a successful audition recorded at school.

In an incredible achievement, Eloise has secured a spot in the Philharmonic Orchestra - an ensemble typically reserved for Year 8 pupils and above - demonstrating her exceptional musical talent and dedication. As part of this opportunity, she will spend a week at Malvern College during the summer holidays, immersing herself in an intensive programme of orchestral rehearsals and performances.

This honour comes just days after Eloise returns from the much-anticipated Music Tour, making for an exciting and enriching summer of music ahead. We are immensely proud of her and look forward to hearing all about her experiences.

Congratulations, Eloise!

From Millfield to the Mid-Atlantic: OM Rufus Lewis Takes on the World’s Toughest Row

Old Millfieldian Rufus Lewis (Walton House, 2015–2019) is preparing to take on one of the world’s most demanding endurance events: the World’s Toughest Row - Atlantic - a solo ocean row of more than 3,000 miles from San Sebastián de La Gomera to English Harbour, Antigua.

Rufus is set to race in December 2026, spending weeks at sea in a completely unsupported, self-sufficient crossing. Alone on the ocean, he will manage everything from navigation and weather to repairs, nutrition, and the mental challenge of isolation - all while rowing for up to 18 hours a day.
