Millfield Prep pupil pursues design dream

Millfield Prep pupil pursues design dream

A Millfield Prep pupil travelled to Lithuania to see her clothing designs brought to life.

Eleven-year-old Dixie, a Year 7 pupil at Millfield Prep School, benefited from some expert training at clothing manufacturer Haltex, who work closely with Millfield School.

Dixie shared some of her design ideas including her brand name DixiePro and with the help of Haltex designers saw her unique logo placed on some Millfield branded clothing.

Haltex expressed their delight with the passion and engagement that Dixie displayed on her visit.

They said: “She is an absolute credit to you, we never thought that we could all be so inspired by an 11-year-old girl. We are certainly happy to help Dixie at any time to make her dreams come true. It was the best visit from a designer we have had this year.”

Haltex are cutting, producing and delivering a custom-made garment for Dixie as a memento of her visit and to inspire her.

The Millfield School shop plan to place one of her designs on their shelves for sale to other students.

Dixie is interested in fashion and design and has already built up a small portfolio with various clothing ideas. After returning from the trip, she has continued to design on her iPad.
