Millfield Prep pupils gain 100% success rate in LAMDA exams

128 Millfield Prep pupils sat LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams in January, achieving a 100% pass rate with over 90% attaining the highest distinction award.

LAMDA is the speech and drama equivalent of a music grade, which begin at basic levels and culminates at Grade 8.

In addition to curriculum drama lessons, pupils are provided with the opportunity to sit LAMDA exams twice a year.

Pupils attend focussed speech and drama sessions to prepare for the exams that are supported by OFQUAL and are QCA accredited.

They provide pupils the opportunity to improve overall confidence, expand vocabulary to improve powers of self-expression and develop speaking and listening.

The Director of Drama at Millfield Prep School, Chris Carruthers, expressed his joy with the results.

“LAMDA exams are an opportunity for pupils to display all of the skills they have learnt in lessons. The results are a credit to their hard work and dedication, and we are delighted with the outcome.”
