Millfield Prep pupils win 22 medals at European Championships

Eight Millfield Prep pupils won a combined 22 medals at the 2022 Biathle, Triathle and Laser Run European Championships in Greece.

The pupils were accompanied by Pentathlon GB Team Managers Howard Jones and Mick Flaherty for Biathle and Triathle, and Phil Hobbs and Pentathlon GB Team Coach Bill Bland for Laser Run. It was an action-packed week for our athletes, many of whom competed in more than one event.

The results were:

Triathle –

U11 – Ella Delin placed 3^rd and won Team GB Gold.

U13 – Iona Murray came 1^st becoming the 2022 European Triathle Champion. Vienna Townsend placed 2^nd. Both won Team GB Gold. Ruby Bodman placed 6^th. 

Mixed Relay – Iona Murray came 1st becoming the 2022 European Mixed Relay Champion.

Biathle –

U11 - Millie Edwards-Newnham placed 2^nd, Sophia Edwards-Newnham placed 3rd. Both won Team GB Gold. Amelia Speyers placed 4^th.

Mixed Relay – Amelia Speyers came first becoming the 2022 European Champion. Millie Edwards-Newnham placed 2^nd.

U13 – Ruby Bodman placed 2^nd, Vienna Townsend placed 3^rd . Both won Team GB Gold.

Mixed Relay - Vienna Townsend placed 2^nd, Ruby Bodman placed 3^rd.

Laser Run –

U13 – Vienna Townsend came 1^st becoming the 2022 European Laser Run Champion. Eva Dowden placed 9^th.

Mixed Relay - Vienna came 1^st becoming 2022 European Mixed Relay Champion.

Also successful from Millfield were Tom Webb, who became U15 Biathle European Champion and Mixed Relay Champion, and gained Team Gold. 

Ollie Tomlinson placed 4th in the U15 Triathle Mixed Relay.

Gerard McGrady placed 2nd in the U17 Biathle Mixed Relay.  

Zack Cooper placed 7th in the U17 Triathle.

Annabelle Suffield placed 3rd in U15 Triathle Mixed Relay.
