Millfield Prep Pupil Shines at Snowsport England’s National Ski Championships
Millfield Prep pupil Saskia Gibson delivered an impressive performance at Snowsport England’s National Ski Championships in Bormio, Italy. Competing as a first-year U14, she took on six challenging races across five days, showcasing her talent and determination on an international stage.
A highlight of the week was Saskia’s debut in the Super-G, held on the world-renowned Stelvio Race Piste, which will host the 2026 Winter Olympic Downhill. Despite facing one of Europe’s most demanding racecourses, she secured impressive top-40 finishes, gaining valuable points for herself and her club.
Her success continued in the Giant Slalom and Slalom races, where she achieved strong results, including a personal best in Slalom. Her efforts contributed to her club’s overall National Clubs Championship victory.
Following her fantastic performance, Saskia will return to Italy this April to compete at the British National Championships in Santa Caterina—an exciting next step in her skiing journey.
Congratulations to Saskia on this incredible achievement! We look forward to seeing her continue to excel on the slopes.
