In Athletics, Lower Sixth Lewie Jones has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European U18 Championships in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. This selection is part of a strong Great Britain and Northern Ireland squad. This opportunity allows Lewie to compete on an international stage, furthering his development and exposure in the sport.
Lower Sixth Eden Robinson represented Great Britain Juniors at the Mannheim International. She competed in both the Long Jump and Javelin events, achieving a personal best in the Javelin.
Earlier in the month, Eden achieved the British Athletics standard for the World Junior Championship at a Combined Events competition in Filderstadt, Germany. Her remarkable performance in the Heptathlon, scoring 5500 points, not only marked a personal best but also set a new Millfield School record. This score currently places her as the ninth ranked U20 heptathlete in the world.
The Somerset Schools Track and Field Championships took place in Yeovil on Saturday 8 June. A total of 71 students from Millfield represented the Mendip Schools' area team. Among the standout performances was Upper Sixth Bellsie Honey, who set a championship record in the 200m with a time of 25.17 seconds. Additionally, 31 students emerged as county champions, highlighting the depth of talent at Millfield.
Held in Exeter on Saturday 15 June, a record number of 48 students from Millfield were selected to represent Somerset Schools at the South West Schools’ Track and Field Championships. The event concluded with eight regional champions and 24 medallists.
On June 22nd and 23rd, five students from Millfield participated in the South West Regional Combined Events Championships in Yeovil. The competitors included Upper Sixth Edward Williams, Lower Sixth Carys Leyshon, Year 10 Mimi Woodliffe, Tabitha Olivier and Year 9 Ellie Danner.
A record number of 23 Millfield students have been selected to represent Somerset Schools at the prestigious English Schools' (ESAA) Track & Field Championships, scheduled to take place on from 12-13 July at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, the host venue of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The following students achieved the National Standard during the qualification period: Upper Sixth Tamara Jackson – Shot Put, Bellsie Honey – 100m, Lower Sixth Eden Robinson – Long Jump, Lewie Jones – Javelin and Year 11 Tom Webb in the 3000m.
In Cricket, the Girls First XI lost to Bradfield College in the semi-final of The Cricket Paper National Schools 100 Ball Cup.
The Meyer’s XI are into the U18 National Schools T20 Cup where they play St Peter’s School, York at Lords today.
The U15A team beat Harrow School in the semi-final of the ESCA U15 One Day Cup. They will play Scarborough College in the Final at Oakham School.

Lower Sixth Caleb Falconer (Meyers XI) scored 114 off 58 not out in the cup quarter-final and 77 off 50 in the cup semi-final.
Year 10 Louie Lawrence scored 147 vs Hampshire U18’s for the Meyer’s XI.
Year 10 Hanson Martin scored 120 off 104 vs Cricket Wales East U15s.
Year 10 Danny Billige and Tom McHugh both claimed hattricks for the U15A team.
Year 10 Louie Lawrence scored 104 off 62 vs Marlborough College U15s in the Last 16 of the National Competition.
Lower Sixth Caleb Falconer scored his maiden Middlesex CCC second XI hundred with a fantastic 138 vs Lancashire CCC 2nd XI in the 2nd XI Championship.
Upper Sixth Archie Vaughan played for the England Invitational XI vs England U19s and Sri Lanka U19s in two 50 Over matches. Archie scored 85 in the game vs England U19’s.
Upper Sixth Dominic Kelly represented England U19’s vs Sri Lanka in the U19 ODI series.
35 players have represented the Meyer’s XI across 18 matches this season. 21 players have made their Meyer’s XI debuts in what has been an incredibly successful season.
75 Millfield athletes, from Years 3 to 13, competed at the National Schools Biathle competition at Leweston School on Sunday 9 June.
In the Year 9 Girls’ event, Ruby Bodman was first (National Champion), Valentina Kemp was second, Chloe Quaintance-Blackford was third, Valentina Bailey was fourth and Addison Clary was fifth. Together the girls were Team National Champions.
In the Year 9 Boys’ event, Mateo Elliot was second, Sam Jackson was third, Tim De Pree was seventh, Jack Guppy was eighth and Hugo Escobar Barfoot was ninth. Together they were Team National Champions.
In the Year 10 Boys’ event, James Wright was first (National Champion), Jasper Girven was third and Jacob Wright was fourth. Together they were Team National Champions.
In the Year 12/13 Boys’ event, Nate Ground was first (National Champion), Sebastian Forrest and Jamie Bedford finished in joint third place, while Gerard McGrady was fourth. Together the were Team National Champions.
Millfield Pentathletes competed in the Southwest Laser Run at Leweston School, where Valentina Kemp placed fourth.
Millfield athletes competed in the National Triathle Championships the following day. Congratulations to the athletes that have accepted their place for the World Championships in Egypt in October.
In the U15 Girls’ event, Year 10 Ruby Bodman was National Triathle Champion, while Valentina Kemp competed bravely but had to retire due to injury. They were Overall Team Champions.
In the U17 Boys’ event, Year 10 Mateo Elliott was National Triathle Champion.

Lower Seva Kava, Ben Morrow and Charles Heffron all represented Saracens U18.
Lower Sixth Ben Morrow has been selected for England U18 tour of South Africa.
Ellis James has been announced as Millfield Rugby Club Captain and Charles Heffron has been announced as the First XV Captain.
OM Lia Green has been selected for the England U20s Six Nations squad this summer. She is the former first captain for both rugby and football.
OMs Ioan Emanuel, Ieuan Davies and Upper Sixth Steffan Emanuel were all selected for the Wales U20 squad for their tour this summer.
OMs Josh Bayliss and Adam Hastings were selected into the Scotland squad. OM Gabriel Oghre was selected into the England squad.
