Learning
We are particularly impressed with Millfield Pre-Prep’s ability to nurture and develop such young minds. The child led learning plays a big part in this; it takes the children on an incredible adventure, whilst learning along the way.
Current Parent
Our aim at Millfield Pre-Prep is to tap into children’s natural curiosity and eagerness to learn. Small class sizes and experienced teachers ensure that every child is given individual care and attention.
Our experienced Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) teams combine a careful blend of numeracy and literacy with a wide range of other subjects, as well as a varied selection of extra-curricular activities.
Our curriculum offers the core subjects of English and Maths, with science, humanities, French and creative arts being an important part of the programme. A typical week includes art, games, PE, cookery, ICT, visiting the Millfield Prep library and outdoor learning in our Forest School. From Year 1, pupils can join individual music lessons to learn how to play an instrument.
In Nursery and Pre-School, little ones enjoy a safe, stimulating and fun environment where they are gently introduced to a routine for learning through play and child-led activities, helping them to grow in independence.
