World Book Day at Millfield Prep

World Book Day at Millfield Prep

What a brilliant World Book Day we had here at Millfield Prep and Pre-Prep.

Everyone in the school - pupils, teachers and coaches - dressed up as their favourite book character, with some amazing and amusing results!

Pupils took part in some brilliant workshops over the day and had their lessons themed around different books too.

The Pre-Prep children all went on a story walk around the Prep School and read the story of The Woodland tales together. Years 3-6 brought books to life with dance workshops, resulting in some amazing performances of Coraline and The Enormous Crocodile. Year 7 enjoyed art workshops with illustrator Tony De Saulles, of Horrible Science fame, completing their own masterpieces. Year 8 worked with David Reakes from the Tor Theatre Company in a brilliant Story-Off! The Languages Department also entered into the spirit of the day, studying Little Red Riding Hood in French and Spanish (Le Petit Chaperon Rouge in French or La Caperucita Roja in Spanish), talking about their character traits and writing captions for the main characters.

A great way to celebrate the brilliance of books!
