Old Millfieldians competing in 2022 Six Nations

Old Millfieldians have been selected for their respective home nations for the upcoming Six Nations tournament.

Josh Bayliss (Scotland), Adam Hastings (Scotland) and Callum Sheedy (Wales) are on the team sheet as well as U20 players Ewan Richards (England), Will Joseph (England) and Tom Cowan (Wales).

Six Nations is an annual, international competition between England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The teams compete across six weeks of fierce competition, culminating with Super Saturday on 19 March 2022. Wales were victorious in last year’s competition.

Millfield’s Director of Rugby is former Bath and England prop John Mallett. He is supported by a team of 18 coaches, including Mike Baxter (Bath and Scotland Sevens) as Assistant Director of Rugby.

John Mallet said, “To see these boys go on and play professional rugby beyond school, knowing their characters in school, and seeing them fulfil their sporting dreams is personally a massive privledge.”

There are a large number of Old Millfieldians who are playing and have played international rugby. Currently this includes Chris Robshaw, Harlequins and former Captain for England; England prop, Mako Vunipola; Jonathan Joseph, Bath and England; Huw Jones and Adam Hastings, Glasgow and Scotland; and Gareth Edwards of Wales and The British Lions who is an OM.

The Six Nations tournament starts on Saturday 5 February. On the opening weekend of the tournament, Ireland take on Wales, Scotland take on England and France play Italy on Sunday.
