Millfield is proud to be the only school in the UK to offer training in all three fencing weapons to boys and girls at the highest levels. Fencing was the fourth sport to have been given an Academy status at the school and is available to every student as a games option, irrespective of their age or skill, and offered as a sport option in Year 9.

Our six coaches provide all-round support, designed to help each student reach their potential. Training takes place in a dedicated nine-piste fencing salle equipped with wall-mounted electric scoring boxes. This facility supports students of all abilities and provides a space where every athlete can grow, develop, and pursue their personal fencing ambitions.

The Fencing Academy includes a comprehensive programme of squad sessions covering all weapons, timetabled lessons, personal competition plans and individual monitoring. We strive to provide both junior and senior pupils valuable competition experience, entering a number of home and abroad tournaments. These range from the Leon Paul Junior Series to World Cup and Grand Prix events.

Millfield has had over 70 students awarded international honours at all levels and last year retained the Overall Public Schools Championships Crown for a record 12th consecutive year.
