Millfield offers all those who are on the Golf programme the opportunity to develop their golf whilst undertaking academic studies.
Millfield have two qualified PGA golf professionals, Karen Nicholls who is the Director of Golf and Stuart Wells, who is the Head Coach. Students on the Golf Programme are given a full and rounded golf education, covering all aspects of the game. The programme is open to all ages, abilities and experiences. Our onsite outdoor facilities are excellent and include two putting greens, a nine hole pitch n putt course, specialist short game area, a 350 yard long driving range and a new indoor centre, The John Graveney Golf Centre, named after Old Millfieldian John Graveney who had a long history with Millfield, includes an 81 sq. metre Huxley putting green, two teaching bays with opportunity to hit outdoors with shutter doors open and an additional 6 practice bays. In addition, golfers receive coaching using V1 video analysis to further assist their development and have the use of the GC Quad and SkyTrak to help with all club and ball data, including putting. The indoor centre is in close proximity to the other golfing facilities. Enhancing the already impressive facilities with the latest in technology, the new all year-round facilities include two teaching bays with the opportunity to hit balls from the inside to outside. The new Golf Centre allows the golf programme to expand group sessions, as 16 students will be able to use the facilities at the same time.
Karen Nicholls, Director of Golf added, “The new golf centre takes golf at Millfield to a new level. We already have great outdoor golf facilities on campus so having such a vast indoor area will further enhance these facilities and be fantastic for all golfers.”
