Developed by the founder of the modern Olympic movement, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, and introduced in the 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games, Modern Pentathlon is a unique and challenging sport for men and women.

The Millfield squad regularly enters athletes for regional and national competitions in biathle, biathlon, triathlon, tetrathlon and pentathlon. As a Pentathlon GB Academy, the affiliated club at the school has close links with the Talent Programme and Millfield athletes are regularly considered for international representation. Old Millfieldian pentathletes include former Olympian and Pentathlon GB Team Leader Dominic Mahoney and Irish Olympian and European Champion Arthur Lanigan O’Keeffe.
