Millfield Art Department
Millfield aims to meet the artistic and creative needs of all our students through exposure to and experience of art from a variety of sources and cultures. Our rich and varied Arts Co-Curricular programme includes:
Millfield Arts Projects
An annual series of activities, workshops and lectures in the Atkinson Gallery. Recent events have included an artist's talk, workshop and residencies by Stewart Geddes, Adam Berry, Mark Elliot Smith and Duncan Elliot; and participation in the national event, The Big Draw.
Millfield Sculpture Park
A unique sculpture collection of 29 exhibits within our extensive parkland, including large scale permanent works from artists such as Glynn Williams and Peter Randall-Page.
Sixth Form mentor programme
Tutorials and portfolio advice with staff and students from universities such as the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, London, Falmouth University and City & Guilds of London Art School. Students can experience the works of emerging artists from the UK’s art schools first-hand in the Atkinson Gallery’s annual MA & Other Postgraduates exhibition.
The Art Department also runs regular trips to London, Oxford, Berlin and Rome.
