A Level (or equivalent) Results
With an average size of typically 300 in the Upper Sixth, Millfield has a much larger number of candidates sitting A levels, or equivalent Sixth Form courses, than that of other independent schools.
For that reason we publish results figures that reflect both our whole student cohort (an average across a wide ability range) and our Top 100 highest achieving candidates. When looking at our Top 100, the results show that this group regularly produce grades which compare well with highly selective schools.
Millfield students achieved a record high 12% A* or equivalent grade at A Level, Pre-U and BTEC in 2019. Millfield’s A*- A grades or equivalent are 34%, this is against a national decline in top grades with the national average for this year at 25.5%. 37 students achieved 3 or more A grades or equivalent with one student, Candice Lam, gaining an excellent 4 A* grades.
